Why English Medium Institution?  

Not Knowing English or weakness in English is the main reason for the failure of most of the boy and girls of this area in getting job.
Knowing English is a condition for most of the jobs in Private and Public sectors.
There is not a single Government service which does not require working knowledge of English.
Many of our boys and girl aspire for the post of Ambassador, SDO, DM, Secretary, Chief Secretary, SP, CP, DCP, DIB; Railway General Manager, Member, Chairman, Post Master General, Comptroller and Auditor General etc. Members of the services like IFS, IAS, IPS, IRTS, IAAS are posted to these posts. Recruitment to these services is done by Union Public Service Commission through the most prestigious competitive examination, the Central Civil Services Examination through the most prestigious competitive examination, the Central Civil Services Examination, held every year. English is a compulsory paper in this examination. English is a compulsory paper for all the competitive examinations like WBCS(Executive). Miscellaneous, and even Clerkship, conducted by West Bengal Public Service Commission. Keeping this in view, for making our boys and girls skilled in English, we applied to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi for affiliation of English Medium School and successfully achieved it in February 2018. Now it is affiliated to CBSE up to Senior Secondary with both Science and Arts Streams.
The English Medium Education teachers teach in this Institution.
Not only in Secondary and Senior Secondary stages, we have Started English Medium Institution from the pre-primary stage also.

Why CBSE?  

The Joint Entrance Examination for admission in important All India Institutions like Medical Colleges, IITs, IIS, and IISERs is conducted by All India Boards. So , studying the syllabus of All India Boards like CBSE will be helpful for the students for getting admission there.

Section 18(5) of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 states  

“ Any persons who establishes or runs a school without obtaining certificate of recognition, or continues to run a school after withdrawal of recognition, shall be liable to fine which may extend to one lakh rupees and in case of continuing contraventions to a fine of ten thousand rupees for each day during which such contravention continues.”

About the School  

Model School (English Medium) was started in 2013. It is now affiliated to CBSE; New Delhi. Students can take admission from Pre-Primary section to IX and XI.For this, Basantapur Education Society (BES) has constructed class rooms and hostels, recruited teachers, and is inviting applications for admission. It has infrastructure like Play Class Room, Smart Class room, Composite Science Lab, Computer Lab, Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Mathematics Lab, Biology Lab, and a Library with more than 1500 books (both text and non-text) and a number of periodicals. Its medium of instruction is English. The second and third language are Bengali and Hindi. It has English Medium educated trained and qualified teachers. All admission are strictly on merit. It makes its students good and well meaning citizen of the country.

Non-Proprietary Character of the Society and the Institution  

The school was established under the patronage of Basantapur Education Society. The memorandum of the association of the Society clearly states: The income and the properties of Society what so ever derived or obtained shall be applied solely towards the promotion of the object of the Society and no portion thereof shall be paid to or divided amongst by way of profits. Accordingly the income from the Institution shall not be diverted to individual in the Society or to any other person. Savings, if any, after meeting the recurring and non recurring expenditure and contribution to developmental, depreciation and contingency fund may be utilised for promoting the school.
